Olympus DS-5000 Digital Voice Recorder

The DS-5000 supports hands-free recording with the optional RS-27 footswitch. Connect the RS-27 to the cradle, place the recorder in the cradle and you are ready to go.

Optional Barcode Scanner for Enhanced Workflow*

The optional SC1 Barcode Scanner Module for the DS-5000, which plugs into the audio device's SD card slot, further enhances workflow for users who require a barcode scanner. The SC1 Barcode Scanner Module will be available summer 2008.

Convenient USB Docking/Recharging Station Included*

A new USB cradle enables users to easily dock and undock the device with one hand. While docked, the device is able to download and upload files and charge the included Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack. File Encryption and Decryption

Business users often discuss matters that are highly confidential -- or at least not intended for everyone's ears. That's why the DS-5000 incorporates numerous security features to ensure files are protected from unauthorized playback or duplication. For starters, this model allows voice files to be encrypted and decrypted.

Device Lock Function With Password Protection

Users can set up password protection on their DS-5000 to secure the device from unauthorized access and protect confidential recordings.

Records in New Digital Speech Standard Pro Format

The DS-5000 features the DSS-Pro Digital Speech Standard with a new QP mode for improved sound quality. This mode records at a sampling rate of 16kHz with a compression rate of 28.0kbps and up to 32 index marks per file. In playback, the Smooth Cue/Review function makes it easier to hear words.

  

Olympus DS-71 Digital Voice Recorder

The Olympus DS-71 Digital Voice Recorder bridges the gap between work and play. In addition to capturing audio of meetings, interviews and other critical information expected of digital recorders, the DS-71 is optimized for downloading, listening to and creating podcasts. The recorder's high sound quality is also great for listening to audio books and music, making it the all-in-one audio device. When capturing exquisite audio is essential for broadcast-ready podcasts or radio spots, the DS-71's Linear PCM ultimate sound quality does the trick. The DS-71 has four gigabytes of memory -- the most built-in memory of any Olympus voice recorder -- to capture marathon recordings of more than 1062 hours.

The Olympus DS-71 is also distinguished by a number of premium features. The DS-71 voice recorder can record and play audio content up to 44.1kHz, which is equal to the sound quality of most CDs. It also features manual recording level adjustment to obtain the optimum sound levels. A convenient removable stereo microphone is included for recording high-quality digital audio. The Olympus DS-71's Voice Guidance function talks to users, confirming which settings have been selected and helping visually challenged users to navigate the device.
